Lift the lid walk

21 January, 2020

On Sunday 21st March 2021 the Rotary Club(s) of Mont Albert & Surrey Hills, will be staging their inaugural “Lift The Lid Walk for mental health” to raise much needed funds for mental health research by Australian Rotary Health. Former Victorian Premier Jeff Kennett will be the event ambassador.

Tragically, eight people take their own lives every day in Australia. Even more disturbing is that there is an attempted suicide every 8 minutes! In addition to these alarming statistics, there are countless thousands of people of all ages who suffer from a wide range of mental health illnesses.

This is why mental health research is so important. We need to find ways to combat mental illness and that can only be achieved through mental health research.

The Lift The Lid Walk for mental health offers members of our communities an opportunity to “lift the lid” on mental health and in the process, raise much needed funds for mental health research.

The Walk is a choice of 6km, 12km or 18km return route from Gardiners Creek – Stott St Entrance, Box Hill South, Victoria.

The Rotary Club(s) of Mont Albert & Surrey Hills invite you to consider becoming a founding Silver or Bronze sponsor to support this year’s Lift the Lid walk event which offers a significant opportunity to showcase your brand and be aligned with a major Rotary fundraising initiative.

Given the extraordinary impact the COVID 19 virus is currently having on businesses and our communities, and how vital your support is to the success of this event, Rotary have decided to create a unique introductory opportunity for potential sponsors and partners to get on board from the get-go.
